I recently shared that the city has sent a letter to the legal representatives of ClubLink, Richcraft, and Minto. In an effort to ensure full transparency I am sharing a copy of that letter below.
I would also like to remind the community that ClubLink informed my office that they will be undertaking some preliminary site investigation during the month of February. Many of you have reached out to my office. Understandably you are alarmed at seeing this activity on the course. They are taking ground samples and, given they own the land, there is nothing that can be done to stop them from doing this on their property.
Having said that, I’d like to remind everyone of the legal steps that the city is taking to ensure that the 40 per cent agreement is upheld. The first step in that direction is the letter that the city recently sent to them. This letter asked that they provide written notice of (1) their intention to re-develop the golf course, and (2) to demonstrate that they have taken steps to find a buyer for the golf course.
I appreciate your ongoing emails and phone calls on this issue and assure you that you will be the first know of any news. I will continue to provide updates as I have them.
