OC Transpo Service Change for January 2020

I am very happy to share new OC Transpo service change adjustments that will go into effect on January 5th and 6th 2020. Many of you have provided me with valuable feedback about Kanata North routes over the last two months and I have been meeting with OC Transpo Management on a regular basis to share these issues. I am happy to share that the input from residents has not only helped with the deployment of the additional 40 buses announced last month, but also contributed to the service improvements being made for the new year. Please continue to share your feedback to allow us to work together to improve the transit services in our community.

I have provided a detailed list below, however I wanted to highlight 3 key changes:

  • Route 63 will improve service to Gatineau with two more trips in the morning and four more in the evening.
  • Route 266 stop will be relocated from Stop A to Stop B at Tunney’s Pasture.
  • Reliability will improve for many routes thanks to adjustments to the times allotted for buses to complete their trips and begin their following trips (ie. More buffer time between routes ending and starting).

While these are steps in the right direction, I know there is still more work to be done and I will continue to push for more reliable service. Senior staff have committed to reviewing other requests I have made including earlier morning trips on Route 266, improving service to Arcadia, improving frequency at Terry Fox park and ride, among other transit needs within our community.  Please see the complete list below. Schedules will be published soon on OC Transpo’s website.
