This morning, I have the pleasure of hosting my second annual International Women’s Day breakfast in Kanata North. What a great way to start the day, being surrounded by inspiring local women and coming together to celebrate and inspire our future generation of female leaders. Thank you to the many residents joining us this morning and to our five panelists, Amanda Gordon, Anahid Khajooei, Brenna Wyman, Jennifer McAndrew, and Thusha Agampodi. These five women have also committed to providing mentorship to five young women in our community who applied for my mentorship program.
Many of you will know, I’m a big supporter of local businesses. Today, I’d also like to recognize our many local female owned businesses in Kanata North. International Women’s Day is about celebrating women’s achievements and increasing visibility, while calling out inequality. Let’s get together to celebrate and recognize the successes of Kanata North’s amazing local female entrepreneurs! You are incredible role models for our future generation of female leaders and I encourage you all to support one another!
My team and I started an online directory of women led businesses in Kanata North. Are you a female, local business owner? Please add your information, and let’s please use this as a resource to support our local women led businesses in Kanata North.
We are stronger together than we are alone! Let’s support one another, learn from each other, encourage each other, and grow together!
Happy International Women’s Day/Week!
