With the uncertainty of the rapidly evolving COVID-19 pandemic, I know many are concerned about Kanata’s businesses. I have been working hard with the Kanata Central Business Improvement Area (KCBIA) and the Kanata North Business Association (KNBA) to support our community during this time.
Here are some ways the KCBIA and KNBA are supporting our business community. Please take a moment to see how you can help:
- KCBIA has set up a webpage with links to Kanata Central stores accepting online orders.
- KCBIA has set up a Shared Employee Program for essential services that are in need of employees. Stores that remain open are Farm Boy, Loblaws, Walmart, LCBO and Canadian Tire.
- KNBA has initiated a #ShopLocal campaign for those interested in buying gift cards to small businesses. Tech Park Dollars have been created to support relief efforts for small business owners that do not have online gift cards available.
I am committed to continuing to work with our BIAs to identify ways the city and I can work to support our business community. If you know more businesses that could benefit from any of these programs, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Kanata North is strong. We will get through these trying times together.
