The City of Ottawa has received a proposal from an applicant for a Zoning By-Law Amendment on the property at 706 March Road. This Zoning By-law Amendment application is to facilitate the development of a large format retail food store, a multi-tenant commercial building, and a drive-through restaurant on the site.
This property was previously owned for many years by Algonquin College; however, their plans to develop it never materialized. Within the last couple of years, the property was sold.
The owner has submitted a proposal to rezone the site from General Mixed Use Zone (GM) and Local Commercial Zone (LC7) to General Mixed Use Zone (GM).
You can find more information on this proposal on the city’s DevApp site.
I will be working with staff to go over the details of this proposal and provide my feedback. I encourage our community to contact the Planners on the file if you have concerns or questions. Your submissions will be put on record as well. The Planners on file are:
Lisa Stern: Lisa.Stern@ottawa.ca
Kathy Rygus: Kathy.Rygus@ottawa.ca
I will be hosting a Virtual Public Consultation meeting on February 10 for our community regarding this application. The meeting will be streamed live on my website and social channels.
