Hydro Ottawa Work in Beaverbrook

I have been informed by Hydro Ottawa that they will be doing work to update high voltage circuits in the city’s Right of Way along Beaverbrook Road between Varley Drive to Varley Drive and on Carr Crescent between Varley Drive to Varley Drive. This work is required to replace end of life high voltage cables and transformers. The majority of this equipment is in residents’ rear yards.

To keep Hydro Ottawa staff and residents safe, outages will occur. The team informed me that they will schedule outages for each transformer impacted by this work. Each replacement can take up to one full business day and will impact approximately 10 customers at a time.

Hydro Ottawa will make every effort to ensure that each outage is completed in the shortest amount of time possible and notifications for the scheduled outages will be provided to all impacted residents by phone/text/emailno later than 72 hours ahead of each outage. A written letter will also be delivered to the impacted homes no later than five business days prior to the outage.

The proposed construction start date is May 15, 2021 and the project is forecasted to be completed by August 16, 2021.
