The completion of the Campeau Drive extension has been greatly anticipated as it creates an important connection to new developments and improves capacity in a key commuting corridor. I’m very pleased to share that the project, which extends Campeau Drive from Country Glen Way to Didsbury Road, is almost completed.
Starting today, the city is inviting residents to check out the new infrastructure and Carp River bridge – as pedestrians or cyclists – as part of a soft opening before the road opens to all traffic. Traffic control will be in place to prohibit vehicular traffic during the soft opening.
My sincere thanks to the construction crews who, despite COVID-19, completed this project ahead of schedule. This will greatly impact traffic flow and will make our community not only more connected, but also easier to move through.
