The City of Ottawa invites Kanata North residents to review and provide comments on the Briar Ridge Pumping Station Upgrade Project by October 15, 2021. To submit comments on the project and for further information, please contact the city’s project manager:

The Briar Ridge Pump Station is located at 960 Klondike Road. Improvements are required for increased station capacity and to improve operation and reliability to meet current standards. With these upgrades the pump station is expected to increase its capacity to service the Kanata North Urban Expansion Area. The proposed upgrades include installing a new backup generator required for emergency situations, replacing existing two pumps with three new pumps, updating electrical and instrumentation to current standard requirements, and other miscellaneous improvements.
The current project schedule is as follows:
- Design completion: winter 2021/2022
- Construction start: spring 2022
- Substantial completion: winter 2022
- Final completion: June 2023
