Mayor Jim Watson has recognized four local entrepreneurs for their significant contributions to Ottawa’s economy. The winners were presented with Immigrant Entrepreneur Awards yesterday at TiE Ottawa’s virtual entrepreneurship conference, TiECon Canada.
The 2021 Immigrant Entrepreneur Award winners are:

- Ihsan (Sam) Habbal, Lunch Lady Ottawa West & Sweet Hits Owner
- Maryam YazdaniFounder of GenesisLink Consulting Services.

After a one year hiatus, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Immigrant Entrepreneur Awards return to recognize the success and contributions of individuals who were born outside of Canada and now make Ottawa their home. The awards have been presented annually since 2012.
