Kanata North Mosquito Nuisance Control Program Update

Hello Kanata North,

With the 2002 Mosquito Program started, you can expect to see weekly reports throughout the summer posted on the Kanata North website. Flyovers have started by both drones and helicopters as part of the project.

MONITORING and WEATHER

Note: The hatching of spring larvae is finished. All sites have been monitored. Some have been monitored twice before the treatment to ensure the optimal timing for treatments.

• Ground treatment started on the 19th and is ongoing.
• Drone treatments started on the 20th and is ongoing.
• Helicopter treatments were performed on the 22nd and the 23rd of April and should be done for the spring treatment.

FORECAST AND PLANNED TREATMENT
Forecast for next week (April 24th to April 30th):
Temperatures are forecasted to remain mild. Larval development will remain consistent. Some precipitation expected early in the week, but it should not be severe enough to impact operations since most of the sites are flooded already.
