Earlier in the month, Kanata North resident Juanita Snelgrove celebrated her 107th birthday! Her family reached out to the Kanata North office to share with us that Juanita had always wanted to drive a train and would like to cross that off her bucket list. Could we help? Thanks to OC Transpo, we were able to make that a reality (well as close as possible to a reality)! Juanita visited OC Transpo headquarters and took the train simulator for a drive! It was so realistic. As she drove the train simulator for over 30 minutes, we all forgot that it was just a simulator. Mayor Mark Sutcliffe came to watch Juanita drive the train (simulator) as did our Head of OC Transpo, Renee Amilcar. It was a wonderful event.
Thank you to the wonderful and caring OC Transpo staff who made Juanita’s dream become a reality! Special thanks to the Para Transpo staff who picked up Juanita to bring her to the Belfast Road facility for the fun!
